Indiana Guard Reserve Exercise Announced - In August, the Indiana Guard Reserve will be conducting an exercise along with the Indiana State Department of Health. It will consist of setting up a Field Hospital in Warsaw, and will be done on Saturday, August 27, 2016 (note that the announcement says August 13, but the date has been changed to August 27). Please refer to the attached Warning Order for more details. This is something that we will be able to observe and should be very interesting.
Field Day 2016 - ARRL Field Day is on June 25 - 26, 2016. I hope you are planning on participating. At the next Hoosier Lakes Radio Club meeting (Thursday, June 2nd) the Field Day Coordinator (Trevor / KK6IUX) will be asking everyone to choose what hours they can participate in the Field Day event. The goal is to have good coverage during the whole event. Please make sure you sign up, so that we will know just where we need more coverage. Thanks!
INDIANA AMATEUR RADIO WEEK PROCLAMATION - In conjunction with the 2016 Field Day, Indiana Governor Mike Pence has proclaimed June 20 – 26 as Amateur Radio Week. A PDF copy of the proclamation can be downloaded from http://www.arrl.org/sections/view/indiana (scroll to bottom of the page).
Fulton County Aux Comm Workshop - Fulton County will be hosting an Aux Comm Workshop on Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17, 2016. This class is designed for those auxiliary emergency communicators and groups who volunteer to provide backup emergency radio communications support to public safety agencies. I you are a RACES or ARES member, I encourage you to participate in this class. Attached is a copy of the announcement, and includes all the details and registration requirements. Class size is limited, so register early.

New ARES Net every Saturday at 8:00 AM - Local Repeater Freq 145.130
NPOTA - “Throughout 2016, Amateur Radio will be helping the National Park Service celebrate their 100th anniversary. Hams from across the country will activate NPS units, promote the National Park Service and showcase Amateur Radio to the public.” The National Parks on the Air event is an ARRL sponsored year-long event that will include operators activating National Park sites, and operators making contact with those activated sites.
